    Marlin Fitzwater spent a decade in the White House, the only press secretary appointed by two presidents. The K-State alumnus has donated personal papers to the Richard L.D. and Marjorie J. Morse Department of Special Collections at K-State Libraries. Highlights from the collection on display in Hale Library's fifth floor gallery.

  2. Celebrating 100 Years of History and Heritage: Riley County Historical Museum

    October 13, 2016, 8:30 AM - February 4, 2018, 5:00 PM @ Riley County Historical Museum

    Centennial celebration exhibit showcases 100-plus artifacts and photographs significant to the history of the Riley County community. Notable objects include a section of original seating from Wareham Opera House, penny-farthing bicycle owned by Guy Varney, hand-carved sunflower clock made from local wood for the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, 1893.

    Many objects on view have been rarely exhibited. Centennial exhibition accompanied by series of programs (watch for announcements and check calendar).

  4. Mapping the Early Career of John Steuart Curry

    Exhibition explores Curry as student and early professional through more than 30 drawings, paintings and magazine illustrations. Never-before-viewed objects from Burr Living Trust of Lewisberry, Penn., will be a centerpiece of the installation. Exhibition organized by Beach Curator Liz Seaton and members of spring 2016 seminar, comprised of students from K-State and UMKC.

  1. KSU Concert Band Clinic

    Participants experience educational and musical learning from nationally-acclaimed guest clinicians. Students offered opportunities to gain a sense of K-State's atmosphere. Three-day event includes six large ensembles, percussion ensembles, sectional rehearsals and master classes with K-State School of Music studio faculty. Weekend concludes with performances by six honor bands and their percussion ensembles on McCain Auditorium stage.

    To participate, students must be nominated by their director. 2018 clinic concert dates, Jan. 19-21.
