  1. Duty First: 100 Years of the Big Red One

    Explore 100-year history of 1st Infantry Division, from Big Red One founding to present day. Exhibit displays exceptional history of the 1ID in Tallgrass Gallery; chronicles five heroic soldiers through WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Gulf Wars, Kosovo conflict and today's military. For children, Camp Funston "boot camp" where kids can "train" alongside Rags, 1ID's WWI pooch mascot.

  2. Promenade on Poyntz

    October 19, 2017, 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Riley County Courthouse (check-in)

    Twelve featured downtown businesses open their doors and serve as ‘stops’ along the Promenade path; check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. (Riley County Courthouse Plaza), where ticket purchasers receive wine glass, tasting tickets and Promenade map. Stroll Poyntz Avenue and sample wine/food varieties. Each business features both red and white wine selections, paired with hors d’oeuvres. Purchase tickets online, or call Homecare & Hospice.

  3. Kansas State University Homecoming Parade

    October 20, 2017, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Downtown Manhattan to Aggieville and City Park

    Manhattan rallies around the Kansas State University campus, and community rallies are extra special for the annual Homecoming parades. Special K-Staters are selected to serve as grand marshal, and K-State students proudly display Homecoming-themed floats throughout Downtown Manhattan and Aggieville.

  7. Tallgrass Tour Bus: Eisenhower Library, Museum and Boyhood Home

    Salute WWII Supreme Allied Commander, 34th President of the U.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower on special Tallgrass Tour Bus. Your visit to the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home in historic Abilene includes special guided tour of Ike's boyhood home and extensive museum galleries.

    Roam the grounds and see Eisenhower's statue, and visit Ike's final resting place at the Place of Meditation. Conclude the day with exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at historic artifacts and objects from Eisenhower's WWII service and role of oversight for the 1st Infantry Division. Round trip travel, tour and lunch fees included within cost. Tour departs Flint Hills Discovery Center.
